The drawing and painting Course held by painter, sculptor and photographer Andreina Giorgia Carpenito, will allow an acquirement of the basic tecniques aimed to let each single student represent their personal expression.

The course is designed to equip participants with a thorough understanding of the principles and techniques of life-drawing. Particular emphasis is placed upon the perception of reality and the training of the eye to contemplate forms from various points of view. It involves the study of the volume, space, proportion and perspective of single and linked elements.

The following essential elements in drawing and sculptural and pictorial design will be studied: "chiaroscuro" or shaping by the balance of light and dark, lighting, the combination of living figure and the surrounding space, lines of tension and lines of construction, full and empty spaces.

The basics of diverse techniques, such as oil-painting, acrylic, watercolor, mixed techniques, charcoal, crayon, pastel, pen and ink, seppia sanguigna, will be taught.
